Factory Refurbished HOBART Handler 190 MIG Wire Welder

I am a garage car builder and had been using a cheap chinese mig welder. I decided I needed to step up and after research I selected Hobart. Best choice I could have made. My welder appeared to be brand new. I could not find any clues that it was a refurb. I was so happy I decided to venture into TIG welding and bought a Hobart 165Tig. I believe you cannot go wrong with Hobart.

I used to have a 15 year old Hobart Handler 140 that worked well until it was stolen so to replace it I purchased another brand TIG machine. Needless to say it was not easy to produce the same quality welds with that machine and my lack of TIG experience as I could with my old Hobart. Frustrated, I sold the TIG and immediately purchased the Hobart Handler 190 with the option to get a Spool Gun later. Set-Up was easy and I really like the upgraded feed mechanism. I still think Hobart could do better with the ground clamp but the supplied clamp is adequate. The 190 is a lot heavier than my TIG or even my old 140 so you're best to have a cart for it. I'm using .030 solid core with the standard Argon CO2 mixture and my first welds using the setting provided on the machine were flawless. One thing I'm not sure of because I haven't looked under the machine but if there are feet on the bottom they are too hard for smooth surfaces, the machine slides easily on my cart and I'm afraid I may knock it off inadvertently. Some sticky rubber feet would be better. The torch is the standard Hobart torch and works fine however I would suggest getting some MIG lube to make your consumables last longer. Stick out should be about 3/8" or less for best results and I'm using about 20 CFM of gas As a refurbished machine, I could not tell it from new other than the sticker on it and it performs as if it were new as well. I had been looking to buy a portable mig welder for sometime. Never found one I liked or had a good purchasing price. I found Hobart's refurbish web site. After reviewing the mig & price for a refurbished unit, I bought it. The instruction manual is well written. I have used the unit for about 2 hours & have to say it is the best mig I have ever used. I have owned other Hobart gas welders & I am not disappointed in the craftsmanship of the welders.

The welder looks brand new. The screws fastening the cover are the only thing I see that has any indication of ever being touched. Nice quality welder for a very reasonable price.

The welder works flawlessly, can't tell it was ever used. Not even a scratch. I'm very happy with it.

Seems like new. Very little indication of previous use. have used it several times now and everything appears to be functioning properly. The reconditioned 190 allowed me to fit it into my budget. Super deal on a great machine. Thanks Hobart

Looks new. Smoothest arc I have ever heard on a mig welder. Lays down beautiful beads with virtually no spatter. This is the best mig machine I have used. America made quality at a great price.
